However, we also know that it’s great to know what local amenities are close by just in case you’ve forgotten any essentials. Plus, with some great local attractions near to Wolds Side lodges, you can plan your stay and really make the most of your trip.

Market Rasen is also popular with many of our guests if you’re looking for somewhere to eat and drink.  

  

Offering a laid-back style and a welcoming, friendly approach, Market Rasen has a variety of pubs and restaurants to choose from.

Advocate Arms 

  

The Advocate Arms proudly holds its position in the heart of Market Rasen and offers everyone who steps through their doors a warm welcome. Dining is available in the bar area, where you can also try their high-quality beers, wines, cocktails, spirits, and much more. They also offer an extensive menu choice as well as an A`la Carte menu with regular specials. 

  

The Advocate Arms is 3 minutes from Wolds Side by car. 

  

The White Swan 

  

A traditional pub offering real ales, sky sports, darts, live entertainment on particular days, the White Swan serves home-cooked food until 9 pm Tuesday-Saturday, (this changes to 6 pm on a Sunday). 

  

The White Swan is 4 minutes from Wolds Side by car. 

  

The Kings Head 

  

The Kings Head is a very popular place in Market Rasen, especially if you’re looking for good pub grub! 

  

With high-quality reviews, all linking to their food, The Kings Head also offers a range of vegetarian and vegan options and is gluten-free. 

  

The Kings Head is 11 minutes away from Wolds Side by car. 

  

Crazy Horse Saloon 

  

The Crazy Horse Saloon is perfect if you’re looking for something a little bit different. A friendly atmosphere, sumptuous meals, a large drinks selection, and regular live music events throughout the year, the Crazy Horse Saloon can offer you all. 

  

Albion Tea Rooms 

  

Boasting 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor, Albion Tea Rooms offers local cuisine, with both vegetarian and vegan options available. Offering up fresh food mixed with a relaxing experience, this tasty restaurant is often considered a `cut above the rest.` 

  

Approximately 4 minutes from Wolds Side. 

Takeaway Restaurants

  

The Gate of India – if sitting in your lodge with a beautiful Indian banquet is what you’re after, then the Gate of India can help. Only 4 minutes’ drive away from Wolds Side Lodges, you will find a huge menu choice, and it is open later hours (although it is always best to check). 

  

Oxford Street Fisheries – if you’re in the mood for some tasty fish and chips, Oxford Street Fisheries is thought to be one of the best chip shops in Lincolnshire, and it’s only 5 minutes from Wolds Side. 

  

Panda Palace – offers a selection of Chinese and Asian cuisine, all available for takeaway. The tasty treasure found at Panda Palace is always rated highly and is only 4 minutes away. 

  

Spiced Lotus – known for its fast-food qualities, this Indian and Asian restaurant offers up some mouth-watering treats! Plus, it’s only 4 minutes from your lodge site!

Interesting Activities in Market Rasen 

  

With Market Rasen so close to our lodges, it’s great to know that it also has some fantastic activities if you’re looking to fill your days doing something different, helping to keep the whole family entertained. 

  

Some of the most popular activities include: 

  

Hall Farm Park – 10 minutes away, and situated on the edge of Lincolnshire Wolds, Hall Farm Park offers indoor and outdoor play areas for kids, woodland walks, an array of animals, crazy golf and more. 

  

Chambers Farm Woods – easy to find, parking is free, and it’s only 24 minutes from Wolds Side. With beautiful gardens and informative nature boards placed around the various trails, you can opt for which walking trail you take depending on the miles! 

  

Market Rasen Racecourse – quite often a very popular place to be! Market Rasen Racecourse hosts horse racing events throughout the year and is set in a stunning location. It also holds family fun days, ladies’ days, music nights, and more, of course, all with a bit of horseracing thrown in for good measure.   Approximately 7 minutes via car. 

  

RAF Binbrook Heritage Centre – this is an attraction that we would most certainly recommend and is well worth the short 16-minute drive to visit.   Boasting a vast amount of history, this military site captures the hearts of everyone who visits. 

  

St Giles Church Langton – A historic village church, the St Giles Church Langton houses the most beautiful stained glass windows and is connected with Stephen Langton, who was the Archbishop of Canterbury, the same Archbishop who had connections to the Magna Carta. The grounds are also home to a medieval churchyard where many say there are tombs located dating back to the Crusades. 25-minute drive. 

Other Local and Nearby Attractions 

  

Tattershall Lakes Country Park – situated 47 minutes from Wolds Side, Tattershall Lakes offers picturesque woodlands, indoor splash and heated pools, an outdoor cinema, high ropes courses, and more!   

  

Kinema in the Woods – an old school cinema experience. Only a 40-minute drive, this cinema in the woods is a great experience! 

  

Louth Museum – packed with artefacts from the Ice Age, Roman era, right through to the 21st Century, this museum may be small, but it certainly has a lot to offer. 26-minute drive. 

  

St James Church – steeped in history, St James Church is a 26-minute drive and often has a range of exhibitions on show, as well as a chance to be mesmerised with its architecture and structural design. 

  

Hubbard’s Hills – a great place for the whole family, 27 minutes away, Hubbard’s Hill is not only free; it’s a great spot if you’re looking for peace and tranquillity.

Lincoln – approximately 29 minutes via car (18 miles) 

  

Lincoln Castle – you could not visit Lincoln and not check out the famous Lincoln Castle. With medieval wall walks, rediscover a world of incredible history and take in the breath-taking sites of the city of Lincoln. Approximately 27 minutes via car. 

Lincoln Cathedral – renowned as one of England’s outstanding monuments, Lincoln Cathedral is gothic in its design, includes the famous Lincoln Imp and was once one of the tallest buildings in the world! It is most certainly worth the 27-minute drive! 

  

Doddington Hall and Gardens – always has something new and exciting to offer its visitors. From a restaurant, café, farm shop, maze gardens, and more, Doddington Hall is an excellent day out – and only 32 minutes away from Wolds Side lodge. 

  

Steep Hill – situated 29 minutes away, Steep Hill was first created by the Romans and still to this day keeps its ancient street bustling with a range of galleries, tea rooms, shops, restaurants, pubs, and more! 

  

Museum of Lincolnshire Life – here you’ll find a vast collection of farm machinery, Victorian kitchens, working printing press, recreated shop interiors, and more!   An exciting museum that helps to bring history back to life. Approximately 26 minutes away via car. 

Cleethorpes – approximately 29 minutes via car (19 miles) 

  

Ebb & Flo living – (SUP (Stand up Paddle Boarding) & kayaking).  If you’ve ever fancied your chance at paddleboarding or kayaking, then EBB and Flo is the place to go (sorry we couldn’t help it!) 

  

Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway – this miniature railway runs along the shore of Cleethorpes, allowing you to take in the seaside scenery and a relaxing break at the same time! 

  

The Jungle Zoo – home to owls, monkeys, goats, lorikeets, and lemurs, this interactive zoo is great for all the family. Bringing you closer to the animals and nature, the Jungle Zoo is 32 minutes from Wolds Side Lodge and hosts regular keeper talks, feeding sessions, demonstrations, and more. 

  

Cleethorpes Boating Lake – used for fishing and model boat enthusiasts, the boating lake is a 32-minute drive. It is also home to Cleethorpes Discovery Centre. 

  

Cleethorpes Pier – Cleethorpes Pier officially opened in 1873 and has fought off fires, ownership issues, amongst others, and still its pavilion remains. A 30-minute drive will see you directly at the end of the pier itself!

Skegness – approximately 53 minutes via car 

  

Natureland Seal Sanctuary – a busy animal attraction in Skegness, Natureland helps to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned and injured seal pups. There are also penguins, meerkats, tropical birds, butterflies, alpacas, and more to visit. Fifty-five minutes’ drive from Wolds Side. 

  

Skegness Beach – oh, we do love to be beside the seaside, and you are only 56 minutes away! A blue flag beach that is spotlessly clean, Skegness beach is excellent for a sandy day out. 

  

Skegness Aquarium – one of the latest attractions in Skegness (and only 56-minute drive), take the whole family on an underground adventure with sharks, octopus, and some of the most fearsome fish around! 

  

Gibraltar Point – a stretch of stunning coastline that runs from the southern edge of Skegness to the mouth of the Wash. Offering your spectacular views around the coast as well as a walk like no other. Approximately 1 hour and a 3-minute drive.
